My name is Kim Adams and I am a Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher at Ankeny High School. In my opinion, I have one of the best jobs here at AHS...being able to enjoy kids as they learn, laugh, and enjoy life while learning to cook in Foods, create in Fashion, or problem solve in Parenthood class, definitely constitutes a great job.

I received my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education/Home Economics/Reading from William Penn College in 1989. Last Spring I finished my Gifted and Talented/Effective Teaching/Professional Development masters degree from Drake University. I started my teaching career in Des Moines in 1989. After spending 10 years in Des Moines, I moved to the Centerville School district where I taught for 4 years. I then moved to Lynnville-Sully where I taught for 3 1/2 years before moving to Ankeny in 2006.

My family is very involved with the school system. My husband is the principal at SouthEast Elementary, and we have children at Ashland Ridge, Northview, and in college. In my spare time I enjoy being outdoors, gardening, cooking, fishing, boating, and spending time with my family and dogs.
